Possibly buying a 740i... questions (archive)

Ok, I'm hopefully selling my 325ic today, and I am looking at buying a 93 740i w/ 117k miles for $8000. Black/black w/ tinted windows, 18" wheels, can't tell if there are any other upgrades. Have a couple questions:

Is this a good deal? How much less could I get away w/ offering? Car is mint on the exterior, and worn, but nice looking interior.

What are common problems to look for when buying an e32? And most importantly, I've owned a 3 and a 5, and I was wondering if any of you have owned either, and is the 740i much harder/more expensive to work on? How about gas? Anyone know avg. MPG?

Sorry for all the questions, but I didn't think i'd have a buyer for my car this fast; don't have time to research it myself!!!
