Fareed is correct, it a filter insert. Snaps into the top of the filter housing. Make shure to not overtighten the very big (36mm?) nut. Otherwise you will tear off the filter housing from the two rubber mounts. If it happenes there is hardly a way to open the housing unless you take it out of the engine bay and put it in a large vise. The 3 oil supply and oil cooler hoses are just stuck in the filter housing and held by one clamp plate.
