Richard: I have put approximately 33,000 miles on
my "used" '94 740I that I purchased with 93,000
miles on it. I have had no maintenance other than
routine Oil and Filters. Hope to put another 100,000 miles on it. It is more pleasant to drive
than my Porsche 944...so smoothe and solid that I
feel confortable after 600 - 800 day trips that can get rather long. Most confortable are the seats which support my back. No other vehicle has been able to do that. (Even the Porsche, Volvo and Mercedes I have owned...Don't even mention the Detroit iron of the jap models I have tried.)The one thing that I know to look out for is the V8 engine block material.. you can find info on in the archives here. Just make sure that it has the new block. (I believe the '93 had the same problem as the '94.) Fortunately, I found that my engine block had been replaced in '97.
I think your price is great.....there are not many 740i models on the market here in the Southeastern USA. Good Luck, J.Hicks
What are common problems to look for when buying an e32? And most importantly, I've owned a 3 and a 5, and I was wondering if any of you have owned either, and is the 740i much harder/more expensive to work on? How about gas? Anyone know avg. MPG?
Sorry for all the questions, but I didn't think i'd have a buyer for my car this fast; don't have time to research it myself!!!
