I had to do something similiar a few years back. Substituted a set of Toyota Supra injectors into my 4 runner.

Went from 12 ohm to 4 ohm. They lasted 90,000 miles and were still going strong when I sold the vehicle. Just judging by the size of the IC on the DME board that grounds the injector coils, I wouldn't worry about it.

I love stuff like this - anything that cuts out the BMW man and his supply of "made in the Black Forest by elves" parts.
