BATTERY VOLTAGE CHECK:
My old battery which hardly turned the engine over after being on charge for 3 days showed:
At Rest - 10.6 volts
At Idle - 14.3 volts
My new battery showed:
At Rest - 12.6 volts
At Idle - 14.3 volts
HYDROMETER CHECK
A far better test is by hydrometer which gives an accurate state of each cell in the battery. In my instance it showed up a completely dead cell in my old battery (after being on charge for 3 days).
