Mine moans and whines -- at first I thought it was coming from the steering column within the plastic shroud behind the steering wheel. However, my understanding is that it comes from the steering shaft turning inside a boot where it pass through the engine compartment bulkhead. There's some sort lubricant (silcon?) that you use to fix this problem.

I heard noise while turning the steering wheel sometimes. It happens one day, a few days later is not doing again, and then later it will come again. Any ideas.
My mechanic said all the front end is good, he told me might be some bushing are worn out, is not a biggy deal.
What do you guys think? ANy ideas?
