I was able to buy a programable remote while on vaction in Spain in January. The store used a device to read the code from my OEM remote and program it into the the new remote. It works great, fits better in my pocket then the large Alpine unit, and cost me about $35.00 US. I don't know if an alarm shop here in the States could do the same thing for you. BMW should be ashamed for charging so much money for a back ordered OEM part. Good Luck!
