Rather than sell the car to a salvage yard for absolutely no money, where the car would rust and good parts would be charged too much for; the employees and I have decided (after stealing a few parts our E24 and E34s) not to sell the car part-by-part on Ebay, but rather to offer part(s) of the car to our friends on the message board for the price our mechanic charges us to remove it, our cost in shipping it, and a couple extra bucks for our time.
Parts already removed are:
The remaining good wheels, (some center caps left)
Widshield wiper blades, (yeah, we're cheap)
Floor Mats
Tools from toolkit
shift knob
Parts that are still in good shape, and any of you are more than welcome to;include:
Drivers side doors (front and back)
Kidneys
Hood
New transmission (16k miles on it, these things are $1200, this one you can have for whatever!)
Engine (3.5 litre, hit 160k miles at time of accident)
Back passenger door
All seats
OBC
Ashtray
Sunroof
Back windsheild
Rear Deck
Factory Radio
Aftermarket Pioneer Radio
Factory BLAUPUNKT speakers
POLK MOMO Competition component speakers
Trunk subwoofer box (cutouts not made, will cut to 8", 10", or 12" upon request)
Lightbulbs
Lighting assemblies
ETC ETC ETC (cars have a lot of parts you know)
Info about the car...
1988 Delphin Grey Mettalic 735il with grey (darker) leather interior. 2nd (and final) owner car with immaculate records and care history (like it matters anymore)
The accident-
Car hydroplaned downhill and collided passenger front side with a light pole (turning it to dust), and then slid along some mud and flew back out into the street. I emerged from the vehicle unscathed, with the exception of a scratch obtained from a broken shirt button. Had I not been in this car when the accident occured (police report estimates collision at well over 2x the speed limit "its a steep hill") I would be dead. BMW makes one hell of a tank. Emergency crews at the site and gawkers outside thought the passengers to be dead, due to the violent look of the impact and the mangled passenger front end... (accident happened AT a viaduct, car almost careened into dry riverbed...)
This car was my baby, and I treated it as such. I would rather the parts go to a good home where someone can use them, at a cheap price, rather than rust in some salvage yard... Yeah, I believe in organ donation. Through owning this car I understand fully the price of every part in this car (seeing as how I replaced everything BUT the engine at one time or another), and that is why I want to offer them cheap.
If you want anything, send me your list, and your bid/offer and Ill get back to you asap. My lot fees are $10 a day, and it sickens me to see my baby as it is(someone in the company wants the boot seeing as how they put a band-aid on it...), so I'de prefer if you could get back to me by midnight Monday. This is so I can make the proper removal preparations, find out about shipping, and get this sad chapter closed.
This isn't a sales pitch or a garauntee of any type. The parts are as is & first come - first serve. Pictures are available (ill have to go take them - by request only) and will be viewable on a webpage who's address will be posted on a later date.
Anyone looking for a wonderful aftermarket radio install for ANY vehicle they have go ahead and contact me too. We carry everyone (no need for authorization yet, company is still a startup but we have done and still do many custom installs and discount sales), and if you want it we can get it and get it done quick and cheap. (shameless plug, I know, but I've gotten so in the habit I dont even notice anymore...)
You all take care. Will be looking for wishlist E-mails. Thank you again for reading this post.
