I just finished replacing 5 electrolytic capacitors (cost me a whopping $1.50 Cdn for the parts!). Prior to replacing, the fuel guage was one of the indicators with intermittent problems and wrong readings.

As you mentioned you replaced a board, did you replace the one with the capacitors on it? Was it a used or new one? If used, the capacitors could be your problem.

If you do replace them, make sure you get the 105 degree rated ones (as noted in one of the archived articles about this subject), and be careful of polarity (the negative leads were well marked on mine).
