I would say that something might be up with that car. I've never driven a 735, so I can't really compare it with the 750. But I will say that as recent as yesterday, I had my '91 750il up to about 120 mph, and it kept begging to be driven harder. No matter how fast I drive this car, it always has more to give. So when you say that the 750 you drove "ran out of steam", it makes me think there is a problem with it.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Someone needs to talk me back into this car. I was going to trade my 735 for it...1990 750il w/150K $7900. But after driving it...not sure.

It's solid and quiet, and it feels a lot like my 735, but it is not that much quicker than my big 6. Snapper and raspier, yes. Pulls harder, yes. But it's also not as nimble (feels heavier). It's playground is pure mid-range. Low end has nothing, runs out of steam up high. Is this normal? Is something up with it mechanically? It just didn't feel like 300hp to me.

Compared to my 6, I'm doubtful of how much more the 12 has to offer other than clout and high(er) repair costs. What should I do.....hmmmm
