While BMW's are interesting and prestigious cars, I think given your finances and age that you would for now at least, be far better off with a small common car having a Japanese power train, (like a Civic for example) with no more than 150,000 km.... preferably something that has been looked after by original owner.

There are many common problems on high mileage E32's that are well documented on this forum (ie, driveshaft, warped brake rotors, failing instrument cluster capacitors, sunroof problems, etc.)...time consuming and sometimes expensive to repair.
