Don't know about the USA or the UK but in Europe you can order BMWs from the factory with "shadowline" trim where all the chrome (except the front kidneys) is either black or dark grey dependent on car colour. I haven't seen an E32 with this option but have been passed on the Autobahn by several E30 M3s and E34 M5s with shadowline trim. Looks very impressive as the cars disappear rapidly into the distance.


The UK 1990 750i I went to see on Sunday was de-chromed with the usual shiny bits painted the same metallic black as the body.
Is this anything special?
I've not seen many without the chrome bumper inserts etc.
