The number on the door jamb plat is the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) which is the maximum weight including passengers, luggage, etc. To find the actual vehicle weight (also called 'curb weight') you must subtract the capacity rating which is also listed on the plate. For example, my 735i has a GVWR of 4828 and a capacity of 1036. So the actual curb weight is 3792 lbs.

per the VIN plate on the driver's door jamb.

According to my registration, my car weighs 4340 lbs. Nishi also has an 88 750il and his says it's 5247 lbs. So, what do your beasts weigh?
