I don't know if it's any better fixing up rust spots from the road salt but I admit the mold problem sounds like trouble.

Far as I know, once you get mold growing somewhere it is near impossible to get all of it out. There are special mold killer chemicals but they might stain/bleach/melt/ruin the leather or plastic where the mold is growing.

Naturally, it's worth trying (on a small area where it soesn't really show if it is ruined) first but you might end up with a whole lot of interior wanting to be changed or kept soaking in some special mold killer liquid tank for a week :-(
