Switched to "Sports", foot on gas and the kid was so surprised I am sure he didn't even know how the 10 year old bimmer got pass him so fast! =)
Adrian,
I live in Minnesota (Tonka Bay)and also own an 91 750il. I have 106k miles. The car runs well and I too have had an oil leak....needs about 1 quart per month which is cheap when compared to the cost of repairs. I have had a very competent mechanic look at it and do some repairs but it still has a leak. I figure that oil is cheap as long as no harm is being done....I put cardboard on the garage floor and monitor it.
My car looks and runs great. All the electronics work with no problems and I have done some minor repairs (headrest repair and others) myself. I do have the front end clunk and will get the bushings and sway bar link joints replaced soon.
For the money, this car is hard to beat...and gives lots of smiles and relaxation. I would like to meet up with someone who has a similar car and compare issues over coffee...it would be nice for a few owners to get together on a Saturday morning, raise their hoods and look at each other's cars. Maybe some of us from Minnesota can arrange this.
Nathan
Hi Nathan,
Thanks for the tip and I would love to chat with you about my 750IL. I just bought this car from South Carolina and it is my first Bimmer. I love it. The most powerful and comfortable car I have driven so far. My oil leak comes from the Hydraulic hose leading from reservoir to regulator. I am searching for the salvage yard to get the hose and replace it myself.
I have a very good mechanic one block from my house and got great tips on the car.
It has 106k mi and seems like the car engine is just breaking in.
My email address is [email protected] email me and lets set up something to meet and exchange some helpful info.
Thanks.
