I bought the car like that , making this noise , 2 years ago. i took it to a AC place and they told me i would need a new compressor soon.
well ... i knew that already couz i had a similar problem on ford taurus that i owned before , noisy compressor then it locked up screwed the belts , and put metal debris inside the whole system.
now, after 2 years having the ac working perfectly (but noisy) my compressor finally died.
the noise is 10x louder and it smells real real bad. like burning rubber
i posted a message asking where to get a compressor.
so let it like that until you feel that you HAVE to replace it .
