Well, I personally like the M60 V-8 engine since it's newer design and has several advantages over the M70, such as separate ignition coil for each cylinder and thus no distributors. Not to mention the 5-speed tranny.

It is lacking in both hp and torque to the M70 V-12 but not significantly so if you find a good one then go for it!

It broke my heart when "TotalBMW listed different bmws with short description and claimed the 740i to be "the car that makes 750i look stupid" ... That's a harsh way to put it...
