Oil Leak... but where? (archive)

I'm having an oil leak (engine) and i guess it's getting worst during the months ... it's weird. i dont see oil stains on the floor when i leave the car parked overnight. almost nothing considerable. but while driving, i feel i'm loosing oil because i always keep the engine clean and it's always dirty specially on the block, driver's side, by the transmission oil stick (yellow) . and when i get home after driving for a while, open the hood and the engine is smoking as hell !! a white smoke and a burned oil smell ... any guess?
for sure it's motor oil, because i made sure to touch the block and see the oil. thank you once again !
