Keep it and DRIVE it to LA. These cars are wonderful on cross-country jaunts. Are you using synthetic fluid in your transmission? If not, try changing to Mobil 1 synthetic fluid. Also, try adding a bottle of Lube Guard (DON'T confuse this with Dura Lube) transmission additive available from NAPA stores. It is not cheap ($12 for a 10oz bottle) but it has worked wonders on harsh downshifts in my 1992 735i. Just remember not to overfill the transmission.

I am living in NY right now and has 187K miles on it. Put a rebuilt tranny in for almost a year and a half now. I am planning to move to LA next year, should I just sell the car. Should I just ship it there and keep using it? Is it worth the shipping cost since it is so far. The car runs great, just a little sluggish on pick up? Also, the tranny shift harsh when it meets heavy traffic. Like shifts 1-2-1-2
Please give me some opinions! THanks!!!
