Iīve routinely checked the gearlever temp when driving and after parking and so on for quite a while. Usually, 99% of the time, itīs at around bodytemp (not too hot to hold, or cold). But once when I did some serious racing and passovers at 160-200km/h for about 10 minutes and stoped for a pause just afterwords, I noticed the gearlever got really hot, almost non-touchable, and lots of steam came out around the car (it was a very rainy day).So I think, unless you push that baby really hard for a while, it shouldnīt get hot. During normal citydriving and highway with pauses it never gets hot here at least.
Maybe others will throw in info for a quick survey ;)
