It may be the relay. Even if the relay is OK, it is a good place to start tracing where the power is and is not. In your '88, the Windshield Wiper Relay is located in the rear power distribution box underneath the left rear seat cushion. The exact location depends upon your car's build date, before or after 3/88. Early ones had only 6 of the small square top shaped relays, later ones had about 13 of them. In the early models to orient yourself, locate the 3 relays in a cluster and call that the top RH corner. The one you want is the upper most one in the top LH corner. In the later models, locate three an a horizontal row in the bottom LH corner - it is the middle one of the three.Hope this helps,

Lately upon startup of my car my windshield wipers do not work. I get no power to anything on the wiper lever. No spray, no intermittant, just nothing. Then 2-3 minutes later they work just fine. I cannot figure this one out. Why would they just start working. Everything else works just great. The OBC does not even recognize they are non functional. Any ideas? I checked the archives and found nothing of help. Hope it is as simple as the mustard relay trick.
Thanks
Otis
