My car had this problem before I bought it. A quick look at the receipts shows that they cut the piece out, welded a new one in, and repainted, about $1500! (but this was at a GOOD shop, and the repair looks perfect.) Sorry!

Has anyone had the attachment point to the bar that controls the limit(s) on how far the door opens break ? That's the bit attached to the door pillar (above the wiring loom running into the door).
Needless to say mine has (it's now in two bits, one still welded to the car) and I'm wondering how the heck I'm going to repair it. I've taken all the trim off and can see it's basically spot welded inside the pillar where I can't get at it.
Ideas (please) ?,
