Never had this problem, but I would look at cutting/grinding the old part off. Then drilling a hole(s) in the new part and plug welding it to the door pillar. I MIG welder would keep the heat down and subsequent damage to the surrounding paint. You could then touch up the area with touch-up paint.


Has anyone had the attachment point to the bar that controls the limit(s) on how far the door opens break ? That's the bit attached to the door pillar (above the wiring loom running into the door).
Needless to say mine has (it's now in two bits, one still welded to the car) and I'm wondering how the heck I'm going to repair it. I've taken all the trim off and can see it's basically spot welded inside the pillar where I can't get at it.
Ideas (please) ?,
