window motor issue (archive)

I finally bought the 88 735i today that I have been looking at for weeks... now the work begins...

the back windows... I was told they didn't work when I bought the car... they do work some... I'll describe it...

either one will go down about an inch... then stop... if I put one down and try to put the other one down, it puts the first one up.

Any ideas?
