June of 89 and its a 735i or il it has a Bosch compressor which is NOT compatible with r134a refrigerant.... The dealer should have told you this. Anyway the retrofit kit from the dealer has the correct receiver/dryer, the correct pressure switch needed, orings labels etc to do the conversion. 82 31 9 067 396 is the part number for the correct conversion kit. It also has complete instructions for the change.

I put in the new R134 receiver/dryer which I purchased from the dealership today. The question I have is the A/C compressor will not engage now so I am not able to fill it with R134. There are two wires that used to plug into the old receiver/dreyer that now have nowhere to plug into. I've heard that these two wires should be soldered together. Is this why my a/c clutch won't engage. Please help!!! Thanks in advance for your help.
