I totally rebuilt a Volvo once. I didn't want to buy completely new calibers so I got a seal kit instead.

It wasn't difficult at all, just slightly time-consuming and dirty as brake work usually is.

I popped the pistons out with compressed air and used some turpentine and a rag to clean the pistons and the caliper housing. I used a very very mild sanding paper at some of them since they had some dirt stuck so tight that it couldn't be removed with just the solvent and a rag.

I cleaned everything once more very carefully and then put new seals in place of the old ones and slid the calipers back in.

Rather easy job.

The brakes started to work like a dream although that might have had a lot to do with the new pads, rotors and fluid as well. ;-)

rebuilding common old cars (not classics) is an expensive hobby that makes people think you're nuts (which I believe is correct)
