The original lower control arms are aluminum to save weight. Using a steel replacement is not a problem. You can buy aluminum control arms but the cost is two or three times higher. You should replace the lower control arm on the other side since you now have one new and one worn control arm. It should be much simpler now that you know what to expect. As a general rule of thumb with suspension, if you have to replace a part on one side, you should also replace the same part on the other side to avoid strange handling problems.

Well, I have finally replaced driver side lower control arm today (took 4hours).
I have noticed the stock(I am not sure if the prev owner replaced it) lower control arm was aluminum not steel. I got the steel once from Zygmunt. It was just pain to take the old one off. Do I need to replace it in pairs even if the passenger side is absolutely perfect condition? I am thinking I might have to since it is now aluminum and steel on either side.
I would like some help on this.
Thank you so much for your input in advance.
