I don't know what kind of tires are currently available in the US. I found that most of the US snow tires are performance wise below standards compared to the tires in Europe. For heavy snowfall I would use MIchelin on steel rims (cheap). On a 735 you could also use 205/60x15. Smaller tire would give you better traction.

And never ever would I use only two snow tires.

The characteristics and the behaviour at low temps (this starts at about 40°F !!) is adversly effected. Especially hi speed tires become very hard and have almost no traction. I am not talking about W-rated tires, H-rates ones are bad enough. Don't look at the tread pattern of snow tires. That does not mean much. A good snow tire can look almost like a summer tire! Since studded tires are illegal in Germany I could not recommend any. This is the domain of the experts (Finland-Nokian-Hakkapelitta etc). BTW in Germany it is illegal to mix regular and snow tires. The vehicle inspection people start to frown when you use two different brands on front and rear end. Ekkehart
