I'm checking into snow tires for use on my 735i with winter arriving in the not too distant future. Mind you, where I live snow arrives early and stays late and 3 or 4 inches per hour accumulation is not unusual. So I need a tire that will go through snow but will not break the bank either. I plan on going with 2 on the rear for this year to see how the car performs then switch to 4 if need be.

My Goodyear dealer has a couple of conventional looking snows he'll sell to me for about 70 dollars each which seems like a pretty good price. I don't care to rush into this but I would like to know what others think. Blizak is great they say but expensive and wears out quickly. Anyone have a snow tire to recommend for the 735i? I've got the standard 15 inch rims. Where do you get your tires (Tire Rack or national chain store)?

Blizzak. I got 4 tires with steel wheels for 500 from Tirerack.com.
A lot of people talk about Hakka, Gislavad, Goodyear, and Michelin, but recommnedation from dealer here in Minnesota is Blizzak. Aweful on dry pavement but the best in snow and wet traction.
