The problem is not so much if the bulb fits. And also not so much if it is legal. In most states not even European H1 is legal. I think only in Washington, Oregon and some other states in the Pacific North West. The question is what will you gain by a 15 Watt increase? Nothing you can really see. If you go to 100 Watt you would see a difference for some hours. Ohms Law, the wire gauge used, the LKM and the addtl. heat generated will guarantee that your pleasure will be a short and expensive one. At 100W reflectors and lenses of the DE lamps will suffer from heat and melt. There will be a H1 premium bulb made by Philipps and/or Osram that will give you 30% better light at the same 55W input. At least Hella informed me accordingly. This would at least be solution without risk to the wiring and electronics. Ekkehart
