I agree, you should always have a car inspected by an independant party. Have them check everything. It is well worth the money spent and you can use the results as a bargaining tool. The other must is complete records of the service and maintanence performed on the vehicle and all the owners manuals. Read these repair records carefully. Ignore recall repairs. But if the car has needed a lot of repairs even if it is covered by the warranty means it is likely to need the same amount of attention out of warranty. Some cars just have bad karma. Check on the number of owners. If it has been traded alot there is a reason for it. Most people fall in love with their 32's and put themselves through hell just to keep it. my 4 cents worth.

i need a refresher course from you guys about what we should look out for if i was to get a 1994 750iL...
if i take it to a dealership what should i ask them to do to get a general check up to see that everything works
