ATF pipe down by the diff? Right back by the diff? There shouldn't be any back there - only hydraulics back there should be the brakes and (probably for you) the LAD suspension (which should be running Pentosin, but maybe someone took it out and ran ATF??!)

Only other pipes i know of coming out of the 4HP24 (which should be the same as the 4HP22 I've got in this respect) should be 1) tube for filler/dipstick and 2) the TWO pipes running forward to the ATF cooler - I think under the radiator for you M70er guys, rather than in it for me with am M30 engine.

Are you sure it's right back at the diff?

while on my hols in spain my rear drive shaft came lose and has split a pipe near rear diff lost all auto trans fluid can sombody tell what pipe this is so i can order it it is taking 21 day to bring back from spain thanks colin uk
