It's no bad idea at all. I've already done it with much success. I have a big sub woofer box with amp rack in my trunk that subsequently weighs down the car at the rear, so naturally I had to lower the front because the rear was slightly sunk a bit. I couldn't stand looking at that obvious wheel gap below the front fender. Therefore lowering the front only was my answer. I also have the great looking 18 inch M-parallels on my ride. Lowering springs are a must for anyone with bigger rims like these. I used Spax (British) Springs. It dropped the front approx. 1.5 inches. It's much better in the corners now and looks absolutely perfect at the front. The car feels fine with no negative effects. So lower away!
Since I switched over the the 18 M-Parallel replicas, the stance is a little weird. I'm thinking of putting some H&Rs in the front only (1.25 inch lowering)to correct the stance and leaving the LAD alone and the original springs in back. First, will this mess up my handling? Second, are there any other reasons for concern? Thanks to all of you for your help. You have a great board here.
