Just found out before the move down south what these cars were costing originally - found a 1988 AA magazine with the pricelists in the back. The 750iL was $220,000NZ and the 735 was about $190,000 - wish I had that sort of money then!! *heheheheh*

BTW 850i was $250000...

Max says it all.

I would rather go for a NZ new one, but some of the import ones have more goodies. A weak spot not mentioned is the waterpump and radiator, potential rust on the bottoms of the doors.

ils may have self leveling problems too.

None the less, amazing cars, leagues ahead of the average commodore/falcon and will run for ever if serviced. I have done about 70,000 k's in mine and it has cost me about $4000 in maintenance but on the other hand, it has saved me from serious injury once and I prefer it to my friends late model HSV.

If you live in the Auckland area, I know plenty about the 735i(l) model and am happy to inspect with you.
