Could be some dislodged oil-soaked debris off the tranny? Then burned clear? Could also just be road tar too, in the worst case...

Maybe just check oil levels in case, too - tranny, engine, pentosin, brakes...?

Took a trip this weekend. 2 hours at 75-80 mph, and return hours later. Cat converter was smoking after the first trip, but not the second, This is probably the hardest this car has been driven in years, could that be the reason?
