Its just against the firewall on the drivers side of the engine compartment. It is covered by a small plastic sheild, about 5 inches square. That plastic sheild is held down by 3 clips underneath. You can reach the outermost two with a small screwdriver to pry them out, then just pull up and the third will let loose. Walla, now you can see the control valve. I undid the three nuts that the cover was held to so I could move the entire valve around a bit. Disconnect the electrical connector. Unscrew the 6 phillips screws (put a towel on the floor as a small amount of fluid will leak out). You can then lift off (with a small amount of prying since this things been on for 10 years) the entire top end for inspection. Mine had both rubber umbrella valves shot, and one had even bent and broken a return spring. I bought an entire new valve, but just replaced the top end. Works great now. No constant heat out of the vents. How do I get to this to check it out. I've looked at archive, but nothing too helpful.
