Why was the engine changed/ how many miles what year? thanks, Dano

A protractor or special tool bmw number 11 2 110 is needed to torque the head bolts on the M60.

stage 1 = finger tight
stage 2 = 30 Nm(22 ft-lb)
stage 3 = +80 degrees
stage 4 = +80 degrees

sequence is as follows
7 5 1 3 9

10 4 2 6 8

If they machined the heads they should have used a special head gasket that is .03 mm thicker. hope this helps

What is the proper torque and sequence for m60 cylinder head bolts. Short block replaced by BMW within the last 5k miles. There is a minor amount of oil around bolts. Should dealer have brough car back in to retorque? If so, when? Some of the bolts appear to be a little loose.
