Wow. I bet Cliff went out and had himself a stiff drink after that call. THe reality is there is little that BMW can do... just look at what the RIAA has had to battle in the music sharing space. They got Napster since there was a central point of failure with a financial (I think) motivation, but with the newer peer to peer sharing systems like Morpheus and Nutella, there is no way to shut this down. The only way that RIAA could win is by copy protecting the content, and we know that somecomputer wiz will just break the protection, so what's the point. If Ekkehart were to put his CDs on his own hard drive and start the Morpheus client, anyone on the net could access the CD material. It's that simple. Not suggesting what anyone should or should not do, just commenting on what technology today enables ;-)

I personnaly received my ETK (EPC) CD from authorized BMW dealer for free.
