Went to the Stealer and watched him do it. He actually pushed button #1 and had it programmed in less than 5 seconds. Man, I felt like an idiot!
Anyway, it is very picky where I stand in corresponding to the receiver. Now I can play with my new toy! (By the way, Thanks Q to tipping me off to Bavarian-Mark is a good guy)But I do have other question: Is this an actual remote for unlocking/locking and is it also a real alarm? Say that if I shook the car, is there a shock sensor? Anyone know the particulars on the entire operation?

the "swithblade" remote or the "square" 3 or 2 button remote? If it's not the "switchblade" remote and you have the black nub/button next to your sunroof switch...then you have the wrong remote. Also have you tried locking and unlocking while sitting in the car...the infrared remote is very "specific" as to where the remote is pointed...if it is not directly at the receiver (the black nub/button) or is blocked by ANYTHING...it will not work. I ususally wait until I am standing near the drivers window and then I activate the remote.

Good luck,

the transmitter to work? I've tried every button and every location and every ignition key setting. Per book:
Put other ignition key in ignition and turn to position 2
Hold transmitter above center of dash, over LED and hold button "2"(okay manual says button 1).
Transmitter should blink rapidy and in 2 seconds, remote should be programmed.
Am I missing something? Hate to go to the Stealer for this...
