Thanks for all the input.

The car does not do this in the summer. I have read about the banjo bolts before and think that it is not the problem because it has had a head gastket job twice in 98 and 99. I would think that they used the new bolts or at least tighten the old ones back up again.

I will try the flush and synth oil and see how it does. I thought a little pitter patter was ok?


east coast is getting colder and with that comes a ticking from the top of the engine that only goes away after very long drive times. Sounds a bit like a diesel but a little more quite.

When should this become a concern. I plan to switch over to mobil 1 soon, maybe it will help.
