The remote I have is a three button variety. Button one is Lock UL/DA. Button two is DBLK ARM. Button three is Panic. I have tried holding down buttons one and two to achieve windows roll up, but with no success. It was at this point that I tried the key and found that the key sequence works. So, the car knows what to do, it is just a question of getting the remote to do it. I'll check the manual tonight and post more tomorrow. Could this be a symptom of a remote that needs to be "synchronized." Other than the window issue, the remote works correctly, unless their are more James Bondish features I am unaware of.

Reab, I'm not that familiar with the remotes that use a "chip", but have you tried holding down the buttons (how many does your remote have, 2 or 3) until the windows and/or sunroof closes? ( I don't think any of the remotes open the windows... just closes them) If you have an owners manual...the procedure should be in the back and let us know if you find out anything.

With regards to the window roll up function, I have a US '94 740il and the windows will roll up using the key procedure. However, they do not seem to roll up with the remote. Could the remote roll up function be disabled somehow? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

And if you have the switchblade can do the same thing by holding the "lock" button on the remote until all the windows and sunroof close.

cool! so that's why I got my windows to close once before and not another time. I didn't realize I held the double lock longer one time than another.

I'm still learning about these cars... I'm a 1 month old e32 owner
