There are two plugs on the rear of the differential. The upper is the fill plug and the lower the drain plug. You will need a small, inexpensive hand pump to fill the differential (just under two quarts). Use a good quality synthetic fluid. I usually change the fluid once per year when I change the coolant and brake fluid as part of the winter fluid changes.

i've never checked the level, never changed, never filled ...
was I supposed to do it? i own the car for 2 1/2 years ...
