I posted a couple days ago that when I redid the cap fix there was no change in the trip OD resetting and the chime periodically dinging. The day after I redid the cap fix everything started to work again. Its been four days now without the trip OD resetting and no chiming when the car is shut down. Also, I had a front tire plugged after removing a screw and had the tires rotated. I knew that one of the front wheels was slightly bent. Now that its on the back, the shimmy at 50 mph is gone. I want to thank all those that had submitted ideas on the cap fix. It was a great bimmer weekend.
