type "capacitor" in the search box. Read the old posts to see if they are similar to your situation (which you will find they are). I'm also including a link that has instructions and pics. The instructions are for an e34...but it's basically the same for an e32...they share many of the same parts. Good luck. (the archives are full of useful me...there hasn't been many "new" questions asked on the board)

The message display has been acting weired over the past few months. It finally went out today. No temprature reading, gas level, mileage, or odometer. I had the same problem three years ago and had the LCD repaced for about $900. What should I do? Is there a way to bypass the LCD? Is the LCD the Problem or could it be something else?
