That is the way they work. It is a closed loop system. If you disconnect the sensors it indicates that the loop has been opened. So you either short the connectors and get rid of the message or put new sensors back in. Since rotors cost more than sensors and I dont look under my car or at my brake pads more than twice a year I rely on the sensors. Ekkehart
