A couple of possibilities. First, the coolant system pressure release hose is located on the passenger's side of the car at the firewall. When the system overpressurizes, or if you remove the coolant reservoir cap when the engine is hot, coolant will run out of this hose. If you find the puddle again, check this hose. Second, if there is a leak in the heater core supply/return hoses, coolant can leak inside the car and exit through the A/C evaporator drain hole. In this case, the puddle would be under the front of the transmission rather than at the firewall.

90 735iL - I have had to refill coolant after Coolant Level message two times in the last month. Noticed yesterday a small pool of coolant on garage floor under the firewall area. This is only the second time noticing this leak and it has been weeks apart. Floor is usually dry. The temp gage is at 12 o'clock and no noticable leak in hoses under the hood. Any ideas?
