I had the same issue. And yes I had to remove the whole bumper to get at it. You must have used a lot of force to remove it from below.


My right fog lamp nozzle is broken. So, I plunked down $10 (with CCA discount) for that little piece of plastic at the local BMW money elimination franchise.

I finally managed to dig out the old one (lotsa #@#%$#[email protected] and force) with a pair of good pliers. It finally screwed out. However, the plastic locking nut is now loose inside the bumper. Now, how does one get it back together? There is only a little hole and the locking screw has to stay inside the bumper.

Anyone done this before? It looks like the bumper has to be pulled to do it right. Thanks for any tricks and thoughts. I'll be checking back on my breaks from wrestling with this thing. If there is interest, I will post summary of the match.
