Ekkehart,

I hope that prices have not fallen to that level! Please, say it isn't so! I haven't looked seriously for about 6 months, but I thought a 92 750 was still fetching about $12K here in the states. Is there that mutch difference in Germany?

Kevin gave an excellent statement regarding maintenance of a 750. I have my third one now for two years. Major repairs:
driveshaft: could have used it for at least 20k longer
windshield: small crack a lot of very small pits, no actual need to repair
rotors, pads: 1 complete set, was necessary
dimmer for instrument cluster etc: lights could not be dimmed, not really necessary
The rest like pollen filters, air filters, oil, plugs, rubber strips for wipers, light bulbs etc. I don't really count. But grand total for 60k mls was less than $ 2000 for two years.
Since I don't spend a single cent on fancy stuff like chips, 20" Alpina rims etc. this car is less expensice than a brand new VW Golf. The current resale value (92/178k mls) is about 3K$. So depreciation does not exist any longer. But this is the country of origin. Ekkehart
