The Maf is ok, the problem is elswhere. The car is at an independent shop. The mechanics there are stumped and they are excellent bmw mechanics with 25 750il's they work on in my town. the car has been there 1 month as they try to catch the 750 in fail mode. Any ideas?
Sorry if this sounds like a smartass answer, but have you condisidered that the MAF is faulty and needs to be replaced? Have you swapped positions of the two MAF to see if the problem switches sides with the MAF?

750il running on 6 cylinders intermittently. Fault codes indicate maf. Maf has 3.9 volts, should be 5. Anyone have any ideas?
