Cant explain the fluid but the symptoms sound like tired driveshaft UJs and/or center bearing. Mine has the beginnings of the same symptoms - a shudder on acceleration which goes away above about 30 and a drumming/shuddering sensation at about the 50mph point.

I'm hoping to find somewhere that can recondition the shaft, the place that did the 735 shaft for me can't do the 740 shaft due to the size of the diff flange plate.

I have a 94 740I and have a vibration problem. It started as a minor vibration at 55-62 during slight increases in the road (going up a slight grade). If I accelerated it went away. I parked the car for about a week and a half, and noticed about a pint of something dripped from what looked like the trans. pan. But after I washed it off nothing has dripped off since. Now when I'm going down the highway, I get a much more severe vibration during acceleration whether or not I'm going up a hill. I'ver checked the archives but didn't find anything like my problem. Any ideas???
Thanks
Leon
